01/06/2010 - Meals On Wheels Needs Volunteers

The Town of Mamaroneck Community Services Office administers a Meals on Wheels program to senior residents of the Town as well as to the Villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck who are age 60 and older. Volunteers are needed to deliver meals to home-bound senior citizens in our community. The meals are picked up from a local catering service and delivered to seniors between 11:30 am and 12:30 pm Monday through Saturday.

A car is needed for delivery. One hour a week is all it takes! Volunteers may work alone or in "teams." At least one member of the team must be 18 years of age or older and must have a car and a valid driver's license. This is a grat opportunity for parents and children to team up on a Saturday morning for one hour, to help senior citizens in our community. Anyone with an hour to spare during the week (and most holidays) is welcome to volunteer.
