1. How do I apply for Meals on Wheels delivery?
Call the Commnity Service office for an application , which can be taken over the phone. Once completed, we request your doctor’s order specifying dietary needs and to arrange for meal delivery. Often we can schedule your first meal delivery within 24 hours.
2. How many days a week can I receive a meal and what time is it delivered?
The meals can be delivered from two (2) to five (5) times per week, depending on doctor's orders. Volunteers deliver between 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM.
3. What activities are provided daily at the Larchmont Senior Center?
The Center holds exercise classes, bridge club, sewing, painting classes, individual or group activities, special events and luncheons. A monthly calendar is available from Community Services and at the Senior Center, 119 Larchmont Avenue. The Annual Senior Center Bazaar in October helps fund programs.
4. Is transportation available for seniors in Larchmont?
Yes, the senior bus provides daily door to door transportation to and from the Senior Center, one way transportation to medical appointments on Tuesday mornings, and
morning and afternoon grocery shopping trips on Wednesday. Transportation for specials events such as trips to Westchester Dinner Theater is provided.
5. How do I obtain a Section 8 Housing Assistance Application?
Call the Community Service office, where we can explain the current status of our waiting list and provide information on federal eligibility regulations.
